youB is an online platform for values-based learning, online and offline/local community and trading center dedicated to environmental and social responsibility. youB, Inc. (youB” or “we”) is committed to protecting and preserving your privacy.  This policy, together with our Terms and Conditions, and any other underlying agreements or terms, sets out the basis on which any data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  By using our website, mobile application and/or any of our services (collectively our “Site”), you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. By using our Site, you authorize us to use such information for purposes connected with youB’s business and for the services offered by youB. We do update this Privacy Policy from time to time so please review this Privacy Policy regularly. If we materially alter our Privacy Policy, we will notify you of such changes by posting a notice on our Site and/or by contacting you via email. Your continued use of the Site will be deemed your agreement that your information may be used in accordance with the new policy.  If you do not agree with the changes, then you should stop using the Site, and you should notify us that you do not want your information used in accordance with the changes. Information We Collect When you visit our Site, we may collect and process the following data about you:
  • Details of your visits to our Site and the resources that you access, including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, including your IP address, the date and time you accessed or left the Site, and which pages you viewed.  Some parts of our Site use cookies and other technologies to collect this information about your general internet usage.  See section below ‘How We Use Cookies” to learn more.
  • Information that you provide directly to us if you choose to join our network of thinkers, doers and changemakers, such as your name, city, state, zip code, your values, your age group, email address, and information on how you heard about youB.
  • If you use our Trading Center, we may collect information about your searches, connections with business members, reviews, and related data.
  • Information that you provide directly by attending our workshops, such as your preferences, attendance, reviews and related data.
  • Information that you provide to us directly when you become a youB Content Creator such as your name, title, address, telephone number, email address, bio, pronouns, age range, language fluency, and, if your payments from youB exceed the amount in any tax year specified by law that requires youB to file a 1099 form or equivalent, then also your tax ID information.
  • Information provided to us when you communicate with us for any reason.
By submitting a telephone number to youB you agree that a representative of youB can contact you at the number you provide, potentially using automated technology (including texts/SMS messaging) or a pre-recorded message.  Your consent is not an obligation to receive any of our products and/or services. How We Use Cookies A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser. Its purpose is to remember information about you, similar to a preference file created by a software application. Once you agree, this cookie file is stored on the hard drive of your computer.  They help us and our affiliates to improve our Site.  They present the content from our Site in the most effective manner for you and your computer. All computers have the ability to decline cookies.  This can be done by activating the setting on your browser which enables you to decline the cookies. Please note that should you choose to decline cookies, you may be unable to access particular parts of our Site.   • To fulfill or meet the reason you provided the information;

  • To monitor and conduct an analysis of our Site traffic and usage patterns;

  • To analyze trends;
  • To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us about our Site users is among the assets transferred.
We will not use personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you with notice and/or updating this Privacy Policy. Disclosure of Your Information We may disclose personal information, and you consent to us doing so, to third parties who are engaged by us to perform functions or provide products and/or services on our behalf, including, but not limited to, financial services providers processing credit cards, texting and/or email communication services and mail houses (and businesses performing such functions). Where applicable, we may disclose your personal information to any affiliated business entities or third parties necessary to provide our platform to you and/or to facilitate our trading center.  This includes, where applicable, third parties involved in the administration and operation of our platform and/or Site. We may also disclose your personal information to other third parties, such as:
  • Where we sell any or all of our business and/or our assets to a third party, whether through bankruptcy proceedings or other sale or merger.
  • Where we are legally required to disclose your information, including, but not limited to, pursuant to a valid subpoena, order, search warrant or other law enforcement request.
  • When we are contractually obligated to disclose it.
Where we disclose personal information for a purpose set forth herein, we enter a contract with the third party that describes the purpose and requires the third-party recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Security To secure your information, we have put in place commercially reasonable physical, technical, and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect on our Site. Nonetheless, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically on our Site, and transmission of such data is therefore entirely at your own risk. Third Party Websites By accessing third party websites through our Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those websites.  We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them. Users Age Our Site is designed and intended for those who have reached the age of at least 16 years old. By using our Site, you affirm that you are at least 16 years of age or older.  We are not liable for any damages that may result from a user’s misrepresentation of age. No one under age 13 is authorized to submit or post any information, including personally identifying information, on our Site. Under no circumstances may anyone under age 13 use our Site.  Parents or legal guardians of children under 13 cannot agree to these terms on their behalf. For Members Using our Organizational Assessment for youB ESR-APPROVED Certification  If you are using our platform and services to obtain the youB ESR-APPROVED certification, you may also provide us with information related to your organization by uploading supporting documentation via a secure server with end-to-end encryption. Such documentation is necessary in order to validate your business’ operational practices. By uploading such documentation, you acknowledge that you may provide confidential and/or proprietary information about your business to youB. youB agrees to protect and secure such documentation in the same manner it protects and secures its own confidential and proprietary information. However, transmission of documentation and information via the internet is not always secure. As such, youB is not liable for any unauthorized access, use or disclosure of such documentation and/or information.  For Residents of the European Union If you are located in the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from United States law, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. When we transfer personal information to third party controllers, we will protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy or as disclosed to you at the time of data collection and in accordance with applicable law. When we process your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy, we will only do so where we have lawful bases for the specific purpose or activity involved, which may include the following:
  • We may use your personal information, including your contact information, to perform our responsibilities under any agreements we have with you, including to administer your membership in our community network and/or to publish your content if you are a Content Creator, and/or to enable your participation or leadership of an approved workshop.
  • We may use your personal information where we have a legitimate interest in doing so, including to communicate with you and to send you information by email, postal mail, telephone, or other means about our platform, community network and to improve and secure our Site and/or our platform.
  • We may process your personal information where we determine it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
  • We may process your personal information where we receive your consent to do so. Where we rely on your consent for processing your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
If you are located in the European Union, subject to applicable exemptions and limitations, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that such personal information be erased, corrected or transferred. You may also have the right to object to our processing of your personal information or to request that we restrict certain processing. While California residents have the right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information and sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under CCPA, we do not sell personal information to any third parties or share personal information with third parties for such purpose, and therefore, we have not included a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our Site. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and take any other necessary action to comply with applicable law.
